In collaboration with the community of the Modelia neighborhood, the collective co-created the idea that was materialized on the walls of this place. Through a series of laboratories held with the community, where children and parents participated in creative activities and dialogues, the participants drew on a sheet of paper different drawings and ideas that would be the basis for the construction of two artistic proposals. The community voted for the one they liked the most. The chosen sketch is related to nature and the environment. In the dialogues, it became evident that the community had a notorious taste for the gardening and flora of Fontibón, which has different ecosystems that have been displaced and affected by bad habits. From artistic practices, the collective wanted to promote and support the conservation of these territories, such as the Capellanía wetland. Over the past five years, 40 new species of birds have been recorded in this wetland, as a result of the restoration and monitoring processes dedicated to these ecosystems. For the creation of the sketch, the Bogotá yellow-hooded blackbird and the blackbird were chosen to represent the avifauna and carry the message to all people. Birds are often seen as divine messengers of hope and transformation for their ability to be close to heaven and Earth. Therefore, we should not see nature as a means and source of resources that exalts human beings above other members of nature; we should promote an empathetic vision of all forms of life. Undoubtedly, climate change would be the clearest and most obvious example. If nature suffers, so do we. Currently, Fontibón conserves 10.2 percent of the Main Ecological Structure, or one-sixth of the city's total. Through this co-creation project, we hope to promote to the preservation of the environment by utilizing our artistic practices and skills.

Arte para desarmarte (Art to disarm you) - Alexander García 'PEAR'

Carlos Lleras Restrepo founded the National Savings Fund, giving Colombians hope of owning a home. In the first residential complex that bears his name located in the town of Fontibón, dreams have been fulfilled, goals have been forged, neighborhoods have been built. It is here where “Arte para desarmarte” arrived to contribute to the construction of a city based on color. We toured the neighborhood, chatted with its inhabitants, spent time in its parks and streets, letting them know how, when and what we were going to do. Our meeting point was the Parque del Fuego (Fire Park), where a large circular structure holds a torch waiting to be ignited by the fire of color and art. It was there that we built a mural idea based on traditional games such as the “golosa” and the classic “stop”. With an itinerant dynamic, the sector's inhabitants approached and recorded a podcast, sharing their feelings, desires and ideas for the image to be painted. Grandparents, adults and children agreed on the importance of preserving the sector's greenery, the geometric shapes of its parks and the connection with water and fire. They also recognized the significant role of its inhabitants in the preservation of the neighborhood's memory. All these drawings, phrases and stories inspired us to think of a modern design that would rescue that water-fire connection and pay homage to its inhabitants. The geometric shapes remind us of the plans of this residential complex, symbolizing the dream of home ownership. In essence, we wanted to give the inhabitants and the city more than a mural. We sought to provide a history, a scenario for integration and rescue of memory and peace.
